Dr. Mobolaji Adewale Oludara is a Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos. He is also Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the Lagos State University College of Medicine.
He had his Medical training at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos from 1977-82 and Residency training at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idiaraba, from 1986-92. A fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in General Surgery he has held various Consultant appointments in both private and public sectors in Lagos , Epe and Sagamu including Chief Consultant appointment with the Eko Hospital in Lagos. His Post fellowship experience and training is spread across the UK, South Africa, Germany, India, France, Egypt, Ghana and Belgium.
He is the pioneer of Laparoscopic Surgery at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in 2011 and currently charged with the responsibility of training upcoming Surgical Registrars in the basics of Laparoscopic Surgery. Apart from other aspects of General Surgery, his vast experience cuts across both upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery as well as Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery. As a researcher, he has interest in Gastrointestinal Stroma Tumours as well as Inflammatory bowel diseases apart from works on Laparoscopic Surgery of the Upper GI tract and appendages. He has close to 40 publications in peer reviewed journals.
He was the Chairman of the Local organizing committee of the 9th SOGHIN annual conference held in Lagos in July 2016. His hobbies include reading and travelling.
